Purify - Detoxifying Activated Charcoal Clay Mask

We start with two detoxifying clays, bentonite and kaolin, and pair them with the well known detoxifying power of activated charcoal (derived from coconuts). We further boost it with the synergistic detoxifying powers of broken wall chlorella and spirulina to flush out environmental toxins, dirt, skin debris, and sebum that clogs pores and causes acne. To soothe and protect your skin from inflammation as it's ridding itself of toxins, we soften and relax it with raw cacao powder, wild turmeric (curcuma aromatica) and raw ginger powder.

Comes as a dry powder, so it is 100% preservative free. The ingredients are only activated the moment you hydrate them!

Ingredients

Activated Charcoal Coconut

Activated Charcoal (derived from coconut)

Derived from sustainable coconut shells which would have otherwise been discarded, our activated charcoal base has numerous active pores which creating a huge surface area on each tiny particle allowing it to pull out thousands of times its own weight in pollutants and toxins found on the surface of the skin. Activated charcoal does a fantastic job of shrinking pores and also acts a gentle natural exfoliant.

Cacao Powder

Cacao Powder

Pronounced ka-cow, studies show applying raw cacao offers a lot of the same benefits as eating it. Its high levels of antioxidants protect and repair the skin from damage and premature aging. Cacao also increases circulation, stimulating blood flow to the surface of the skin, keeping it healthy and glowing.

Ginger

Ginger

Containing around 40 antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that prevent free radical damage and protect against aging. The antioxidants present in ginger increases collagen production, which results in enhanced elasticity. Ginger has also been known to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation (dark blotches of skin). It also helps promote skin renewal and improve blood circulation, both of which are essential to clearing toxins.

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite Clay

Also known as Montmorillonite clay, is composed of ash made from volcanos and is primarily harvested in Fort Benton (hence the name). It has strong detoxification properties and it one of the gentlest of clays for use on the skin. Bentonite clay is rich in a variety of minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, and potassium. It can help to draw out heavy metal toxins such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and benzene. It has been shown to fight inflammation inducing pathogens (both viral and bacterial).

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin Clay

This pale white clay helps to pull toxins from the skin while simultaneously restoring the natural balance in the skin by removing excess oil without being too drying. Because kaolin clay is stimulating to the skin, it can tone it and tighten it at the same time, while shrinking enlarged pores. It is one of the most gentle of clays, making it suitable for sensitive skins.

Wild Turmeric

Wild Turmeric

Also known as Curcuma Aromatica, wild turmeric is the non-staining cousin of what you might have in your kitchen. With its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties, it helps to calm redness and soothe irritation caused by a variety of conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema. It is especially excellent against acne (short for Propionibacterium Acnes) in part because of its antimicrobial properties, but also because it fights back against the pro-inflammatory molecules (cytokines and chemokines) that the P. Acnes bacteria triggers your body to release so it can feast on your pain.

Spirulina

Spirulina

A naturally occurring blue-green algae which forms of the surface of lakes. Rich in vitamins A, B-12 and E, fatty acids, and amino acids, Spirulina decreases inflammation, tones the skin and encourages cell turnover to promote a more youthful-looking complexion.

Chlorella

Chlorella

Rich with amino acids, vitamin C, B vitamins, and anti-inflammatory omega-3s, chlorella binds to heavy metals and dioxins, which are known hormonal disruptors. It is naturally fortified with magnesium and zinc, which help calm skin inflammation and promote healthy functioning.
